How It Works

Section 01

Search

In the Search section, you can find flight connections between your chosen airports.

Multi-Flight Search

By clicking "Add flight," you can search up to 5 connections on different dates simultaneously.

Connecting Flights

When filtering by airline, FlyStandby can suggest connecting options through major hub airports — useful when there is no direct route on your preferred carrier.

Advanced Options

  • Airline — limit results to a specific carrier.
  • Agreements — search only for flights included in your airline agreements (verified employees).
  • Traveler/Cabin — filter for specific travelers or cabin classes.

Search Results

  • View Details — open flight information, see aircraft type and seats for sale.
  • Add to Trip — heart icon adds a flight to one of your trips.
  • Select Flights — choose specific flights to request load info.
  • Voucher Banners — promo banners can give free or discounted load requests.
Requesting Flight Loads
  1. 01Select Flights — tick the checkbox next to the flight(s) you want.
  2. 02Initiate Request — click “Request load(s).”
  3. 03Choose Priority — pick how many SkyCredits to spend (200 standard, more for higher priority).
  4. 04Confirm — click “Request load.” Your request appears in Flight Loads.
Section 02

Flight Loads

Verified employees only

In the Flight Loads section, you can manage the exchange of flight availability data.

Inbox · Earn

  • Sorting — by priority and SkyCredits earned.
  • Answering — once you click to answer, the request locks for you to prevent duplicates.
  • Accuracy — providing incorrect data violates community standards and may result in a ban.

Sent · Yours

  • Answered — view load data provided by other users.
  • Pending — your active requests not yet answered.
  • Cancellation — cancel any pending request.
  • Returns — if a request is unanswered when the flight departs, SkyCredits are returned to your balance.

History

Archive of past activity: completed, expired, and cancelled requests.

Updates

From the Answered tab, select a flight and click "Request update" for fresher data. Costs the same as a new load request.
Section 03

Route Explorer

Discover available routes between airports — find connections you may not have known about.

How to Use

Enter a departure or arrival airport to see all available routes; filter by airline.

Cost

20 SkyCredits per search. Pro: 10 free/month. Max: unlimited.
Section 04

My Trips & Journeys

Plan multi-leg itineraries on an interactive visual canvas. A Journey is a higher-level travel plan that can contain multiple trips.

Free Tier

3 free trips and 1 free journey per account. After that, trips cost 100 and journeys 400 SkyCredits — or use a subscription plan.

Creating a Trip

Click "New Trip," enter origin and destination, give it a name, and add optional notes. Status defaults to Planning.

Trip Views

  • Canvas — interactive node view, drag-and-drop layout.
  • Map — routes on an interactive map with great-circle arcs.
  • Timeline — Gantt-style horizontal time axis.
On mobile the Timeline is selected by default.

Adding Flights

  • Legs — break the trip into segments.
  • Options — add multiple alternatives per leg.
  • Loads — request load info from any view.

Timeline

Gantt chart with path groups, zoom & pan, fit-to-screen, color modes (Path / Load), and per-card customization.

Trip Status

Planning · Booked · Completed · Cancelled.
Section 05

Flight Status

Look up live information for any specific flight.

  1. 01Select Airline — choose the airline operating the flight.
  2. 02Enter Flight Number — e.g., 123.
  3. 03View Results — departure/arrival times, delays, gates, aircraft details.

History

Previously looked-up flights are saved for quick re-access. Trips also link straight to status.

Cost

20 SkyCredits per lookup. Pro: 10 free/month. Max: unlimited.
Section 06

Agreements

Verified employees only

Manage airline agreements specific to your employer so the app filters search results based on your actual travel privileges. Two sub-sections: My Agreements and Shared Agreements.

My Agreements

Three traveler categories: ZEA (employee/partner), ZEP (parents), ZPA (buddy pass / partner).
  • — Add via the (+) button; agreements default to Economy.
  • — Modify Cabin Classes by clicking an airline and ticking eligible classes.
  • — Import (ZEP/ZPA) from your main ZEA profile to save time.
  • — Remove via the airline detail screen.

Shared Agreements

Gold tier+

Community-maintained list. View and contribute, ensuring the database stays current. In Account Settings choose whether searches use Shared or your own My Agreements list.
Section 07

Settings

Click the Account icon (circle) in the menu and select "Settings" to customise preferences, manage your profile, and control account security.

Profile

Nickname, anonymous mode, time zone, time format (12h/24h), currency preferences.

Airlines

Primary employer (drives Shared Agreements visibility), up to 4 additional airlines for cross-carrier load access, and your agreement preference.

Verification

Required to answer load requests. Three paths: (1) automatic if you used your airline email, (2) upload any one of an employee ID badge, payslip, pilot license, cabin crew attestation, MyIDTravel screenshot showing your airline, or a selfie in uniform holding a paper with your signup email (you can black out salary or anything sensitive — we only need your name and the airline visible; photos are deleted immediately after review), or (3) start a FlyStandby subscription — your plan verifies you instantly from day one. The 800-credit verification bonus is separate and lands on your first paid invoice.

Notifications

Configure: answers received, new requests, and a minimum reward threshold (e.g. 500 SkyCredits). Browser-based — re-enable on each new device or browser.

Account

View your unique Account ID, change password, or permanently delete your account.

Vouchers

Free or discounted load requests on specific flights. Redeem from promo banners on the search page; applied automatically on matching load requests. Manage active vouchers in the Vouchers tab on the SkyCredits page.
Section 09

Referral Program

Invite friends and colleagues to FlyStandby; earn SkyCredits when they join.

  1. 01Find Your Link — go to your profile and copy your unique referral link.
  2. 02Share — send via the built-in share options or copy the link directly.
  3. 03Earn — 1,200 SkyCredits when your referral registers and makes their first SkyCredits purchase within 90 days.

Optional plans that unlock additional features beyond the free tier.

Manage

Subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from the Subscriptions page. Auto-renews; cancel any time. Apple App Store subscriptions are managed in Apple settings. Refund rules in the Right of Withdrawal policy.
Section 11

Data & Privacy

Data Export

Download a copy of all your personal data from account settings — once every 30 days.

Account Deletion

Permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Account section. Irreversible.
