FlyStandby

How It Works

Search

In the Search section, you can easily find flight connections between your chosen airports.

Multi-Flight Search

By clicking "Add flight," you can search up to 5 connections on different dates simultaneously.

Advanced Options

Use these filters to refine your search:

  • Airline: Limit results to a specific carrier.
  • Agreements: Search only for flights included in your airline agreements (requires prior setup).
  • Traveler/Cabin: Filter for specific travelers or cabin classes.

Note: Agreement and Traveler search filters are available only to verified employees. Please refer to the Verification section below for details.

Search Results

Once your results appear, you can:

  • View Details: Open flight information to see the aircraft type and the number of seats for sale (when available).
  • Add to Trip: Click the heart icon to quickly add a flight to one of your trips.
  • Select Flights: Choose specific flights to request load information.
  • Voucher Banners: Promotional voucher banners may occasionally appear on the search page. Redeeming a voucher gives you free or discounted load requests on matching flights.

Requesting Flight Loads

To request detailed load data:

  1. Select Flights: Tick the checkbox next to the flight(s) you are interested in (you can select multiple results).
  2. Initiate Request: Click "Request load(s)."
  3. Choose Priority: Select the amount of SkyCredits you wish to spend. A standard request costs 200 SkyCredits. You can add additional SkyCredits to increase the priority of your request.
  4. Confirm: Click "Request load." Your active request will now appear under the "Flight loads" section.

Flight Loads

Note: This section is available exclusively to verified airline employees.

In the Flight Loads section, you can manage the exchange of flight availability data.

Inbox (Earn SkyCredits)

Here you can answer requests from other users for the airlines you have selected.

  • Sorting: Requests are sorted by priority and the amount of SkyCredits you can earn for answering them.
  • Answering: Once you click on a request to answer it, it is temporarily locked for you. This prevents other users from answering it while you are typing.
  • Accuracy Warning: Providing incorrect load information violates our community standards and may lead to your account being banned.

Sent (Your Requests)

Track the status of the requests you have made.

  • Answered: View the load data provided by other users.
  • Pending: View your active requests that have not yet been answered.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel a request at any time as long as it is still in "Pending" status.
  • Refunds: If your request remains unanswered by the time the flight departs, your SkyCredits will be automatically reimbursed to your account.

History

Access an archive of your past activity, including completed, expired, and cancelled requests.

Requesting Updates

If you need fresher data on a flight you previously checked:

  1. Go to the "Answered" tab in your Sent section.
  2. Select the flight and click "Request update."

Note: Requesting an update costs the same amount of SkyCredits as submitting a new load request.

My Trips

The My Trips section lets you plan multi-leg journeys with an interactive visual canvas.

Creating a Trip

To start planning a new trip:

  1. Click "New Trip" and enter your origin and destination airports.
  2. Give your trip a name and optionally add notes.
  3. Your trip is created with "Planning" status.

Trip Views

Each trip can be viewed in three different modes using the toggle at the top of the page:

  • Canvas: An interactive node-based view where you can drag and drop airport and flight nodes to organize your trip visually. Best for building and structuring your trip.
  • Map: See your routes displayed on an interactive map with great-circle arcs between airports.
  • Timeline: A Gantt-chart style view that displays all your flights on a horizontal time axis. Best for visualizing schedules, layovers, and comparing flight options side by side.

Note: On mobile devices, the Timeline view is selected by default since the Canvas requires a larger screen.

Adding Flights

In any view, you can build your trip by adding flights:

  • Add Legs: Break your journey into individual flight segments (e.g., outbound, return, layover city).
  • Add Flight Options: Search and add multiple flight options for each leg to compare alternatives.
  • Request Loads: Select one or more flights and request load information directly from any view.

Timeline

The Timeline view provides a detailed time-based visualization of your trip:

  • Gantt Chart: Each flight is displayed as a horizontal bar along a time axis, making it easy to see departure/arrival times, flight durations, and gaps between connections.
  • Path Groups: Flights are organized by route. You can collapse or expand each route group to focus on specific parts of your trip.
  • Zoom & Pan: Use the zoom controls (or scroll) to zoom in for detail or zoom out for an overview. Use "Fit" to auto-size the timeline to your screen.
  • Flight Cards: On the left side, each flight shows airline logo, flight number, route, times, and load status indicators when available.
  • Color Modes: Switch between "Path" mode (colors by route) and "Load" mode (colors by seat availability) to visualize your trip differently.
  • Delete & Customize: Hover over a flight card to reveal delete and color customization options.

Trip Status

Each trip has a status to help you track its progress:

  • Planning: Trip is being built and researched.
  • Booked: You have confirmed your travel plans.
  • Completed: Trip has been taken.
  • Cancelled: Trip was cancelled.

Agreements

Note: This page is visible only to verified airline employees.

In this section, you can manage the airline agreements specific to your employer. Setting this up correctly allows the app to filter search results based on your actual travel privileges. The page is divided into two main sections: "My Agreements" and "Shared Agreements."

My Agreements

You can organize your agreements into three categories:

  • ZEA: Employee/Partner
  • ZEP: Parents
  • ZPA: Buddy Pass/Travel Partner

How to Manage Agreements:

  • Add an Agreement: Click the (+) button and search for the airline you wish to add. Once selected, click "Add." Agreements are added with Economy class selected by default.
  • Modify Booking Classes: To add other cabins (e.g., Business or First), click on the listed airline and tick the checkboxes for the travel classes you are eligible for.
  • Importing (ZEP & ZPA): When adding agreements for Parents (ZEP) or Buddy Pass (ZPA), you can choose to import the list directly from your main ZEA profile to save time, or add airlines manually.
  • Remove an Agreement: Click on a specific airline in your list to modify its details or remove it entirely.

Shared Agreements

Available to Gold Tier users. If you reach Gold Tier status, you can access a community-maintained list of agreements.

  • Consult & Edit: You can view and help modify agreements shared by other employees of your airline, ensuring the database stays up to date.
  • Search Settings: In your Account Settings, you can choose whether the app uses "Shared Agreements" or your personal "My Agreements" list when searching for flights.

Settings

To access your settings, click on the Account icon (circle) in the menu and select "Settings." In this section, you can customize your app preferences, manage your profile, and control your account security.

Profile

  • Nickname: Choose a display name that will be visible to others when you answer load requests.
  • Anonymous Mode: You can enable this to hide your nickname when answering requests.
  • Preferences: Customize your display settings, including Time Zone, Time Format (12h/24h), and Currency preferences for SkyCredits purchases.

Airlines

  • Primary Employer: Select the airline you work for. This selection determines which Shared Agreements are visible to you.
  • Additional Access: If you have access to load data for other carriers, you can add up to 4 additional airlines. You will then be able to see and answer load requests for these companies.
  • Agreement Preference: Choose whether the search function prioritizes your personal "My Agreements" list or the community-sourced "Shared Agreements" list.

Verification

Verification is required for airline employees who wish to answer load requests and earn SkyCredits.

  • Automatic Verification: If you registered using your official airline employee email address, your account is verified automatically.
  • Manual Verification: If you registered with a personal email, you must submit proof of employment. You can upload a photo of your Airline Employee ID, or a selfie in uniform holding a piece of paper with your Signup Email or Account ID (found in the Account section).

Privacy Note: All submitted photos are strictly for internal verification purposes. They are permanently deleted immediately after your status is verified. We do not store these images or share them with third parties.

Notifications

Manage how and when you are alerted by the app. You can configure settings for:

  • Answers Received: When someone replies to your load request.
  • New Requests: When a new load request is available for your airline(s).
  • Minimum Reward Filter: You can set a minimum SkyCredit threshold for notifications. For example, if you set this to 500, you will only be notified of new requests that offer a reward of 500 SkyCredits or more.

Important: Notifications are browser-based. If you switch to a new device or a different web browser, you will need to enable notifications again.

Account

In this section, you can view your unique Account ID, change your Password, or permanently delete your account.
